IND vs SL | 1st Test | Day-2 | Tea | Live Updates: The brilliant innings of Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja's brilliant innings can be gauged from the fact that he surpassed legendary Kapil Dev to register India's highest individual score batting at number seven in Tests. Also, for a man like Jadeja, who is aggressive right from the word go when it comes to batting, to get to his hundred with only 10 fours and without hitting even a six, speaks a lot about how much of a changed batter he is now.
However, the biggest plus could be his 103* runs and with Mohammad Shami to get India over 500 when they lost Jayant Yadav at 471. This Jadeja is different and could be a legend in the making.

IND vs SL | 1st Test | Day-2 | Tea | Live Updates: India declare at 574-8
India have declared the innings for 574 runs with Ravindra Jadeja left stranded at 175*. Could that have been a double hundred? Well, that can be left for a discussion on a day that might have had less action. Not this one. The session began with India at 468-7 and lost Jayant Yadav soon and seemed like India might get out for something below 500.
However, it wasn't to be as Ravindra Jadeja brought up yet another partnership, the third one he was involved in and led India to 574-8. He added 103 for the ninth wicket with Mohammad Shami. Out of that 103, Shami scored only 20*.

IND vs SL | 1st Test | Day-2 | Session-2 | Live Updates: Close Shave for Shami
India would have lost its ninth wicket had the umpire signalled it out as Surnga Lakmal bowled a perfectly good length ball that came back in and hit Mohammad Shami on the pads. A loud appeal from Sri Lanka wasn't able to move the umpire and they went for the review. The review showed that the ball would have touched the leg stumps. But it was the umpire's calls on the wickets hitting and thus Shami survived.
