Live | IND vs SL | 2nd Test | Day 3- The class of Karunaratne
What Karunaratne has achieved here is just phenomenal. On a pitch that was spitting venom from the very first day and where greats like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma couldn't score against even the Sri Lankan bowling attack, Dimuth Karunaratne has shown patience and has gone on to score a kind of century that will be remembered for ages. This is the first and only century that this game has seen so far from both the teams combined.
Now, it would be great to see how far can Sri Lanka go. They have crossed the 200 mark also and it is the first time in four innings that they have been able to do it.

Live | IND vs SL | 2nd Test | Day 3- Karunaratne's century the only point of play
Dimuth Karunaratne is batting at 90 and if he goes on to score a century, it would be one of the greatest of his careers because it would come on a track where players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Angelo Mathews couldn't get past 50 and Iyer, even after getting past 50 twice, was not able to get to a hundred. Sri Lanka are 6 down for 183 and the likes of Embuldeniya, Lakmal and Jayawickrama need to stand there to take their captain to a memorable hundred

Live | IND vs SL | 2nd Test | Day 3- Asalanka goes
There goes another wicket. It was well set up as Asalanka was drawn to play at the ball that was going down the leg after being bowled from over the wicket by Axar Patel, instead of going through with the shot, he just nicked it and was caught easily by captain Rohit Sharma at the leg slip. Sri Lanka are now 182/6

Live | IND vs SL | 2nd Test | Day 3- Post Tea session begins, Dickwella gone
The second session of the third day's play of the second session between India and Sri Lanka begins with the Sri Lankan team moving along nicely at 160/4 with the fifth wicket adding 55 runs. and Just as I type, Niroshan Dickwella has committed Harakiri here as just like Kusal Mendis, after going well, come down the case to Axar Patel on a delivery that was keeping low and missed it completely.
This is pathetic from Sri Lanka as they lose their fifth wicket for 160. Just as it seems that Sri Lanka might get along and provide some resistance, a very foolish shot all the time leads to the fall of a wicket.

Live | IND vs SL | 2nd Test | Day 3, Tea- Karunratne fights on
The Sri Lankan team played out 32 overs in the first session and lost only three wickets, out of which the wicket of Kusal Mendis, who scored a very handsome fifty was more than just a gift and then the two of Angelo Mathews and Dhananjaya de Silva were of unplayable deliveries, especially that of Mathews. But credit must go to Karunratne and Niroshan Dickwella who have batted well and not let the Sri Lankan team lose too many wickets

Live | IND vs SL | 2nd Test | Day 3- Fine innings from Karunaratne
This has been a fine display of batsmanship from Dimuth Karunaratne here in the fourth innings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium as he brings up a great fifty. He and Kusal Mendis looked unbeatable out there this afternoon. But Mendis gave his wicket away and since then two more wickets fell, but Karunaratne has been unfazed at the other end as he moves to 55 and the Sri Lankan score goes past 130

Live | IND vs SL | 2nd Test | Day 3- Another one bites the dust and Ashwin strikes again
Hanuma Vihari has caught splendidly here as Dhananjaya de Silva's miserable stay at the crease ends. It was on bat and pad and de Silva played with bat and pad and the ball went in the air as the batter was not in control of the shot and Vihari dived at short leg and caught it brilliantly. Sri Lanka are now 105-4. From 97-1, they are 105-4, losing three quality wickets in a space of just eight runs. Yup that's how this Testy has moved

Live | IND vs SL | 2nd Test | Day 3- Mathews out cheaply, Jadeja gets his first wicket
And as I was saying it will open the floodgates, it has as Ravindra Jadeja has gone through the defences of Angelo Mathews and castled him to grab his first wicket of the match. Now this will out a lot of pressure on the settled Dimuth Karunaratne and if a partnership doesn't develop here for this wicket between Karunaratne and Dhananjaya de Silva, we might as well see the match getting done in the first session itself
