Niroshan Dickwella, the Sri Lankan wicket-keeper who used to go for the review even when the ball was headed down the leg in the first Test, has kept quiet in this one and as a result, Sri Lanka have lost out on three opportunities, two against Hanuma Vihari and one against Rishabh Pant. On all three occasions, the ball was hitting the pads before the bat and Sri Lanka missed all three opportunities. Now India are 147-4, but could have been seven down had those reviews been taken by Sri Lanka

And another wicket falls, this time it is of Virat Kohli. It was an arm ball from left-arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama as it kept low and came way too quickly for the liking of Kohli and hit him on the pads as he was not able to get his bat down in time and as result was found plumb in front of the wicket. Second wicket for Jayawickrama as India lose four for 139.

Rohit Sharma and Hanuma Vihari have now added 50 runs for the second wicket as India close in on 100. This is by far the biggest partnership of the match and it has come in the third innings. With Tea done, Indian batters return and score 11 runs in the first over itself which was bowled by Embuldeniya. He was short in his approach once again, which has been the crime committed by the Sri Lankan spinners. But a very good spirit has been shown by Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama, who after being injured very badly in the first session, has returned in the second and bowled with a limpingly in his first over which was a maiden.

The Indian team has done well to survive on this pitch and have lost only one wicket which was Mayank Agarwal who was picked by Lasith Embuldeniya. The pitch is not throwing the demons it did on the first day and hence the chances of landing wicket-taking deliveries every ball is getting tougher.
