The Indian team would now need 261 runs to win as they restricted the Kiwis to only 260-9 after a brilliant showing from bowling all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar who picked four wickets. Vastrakar's dual strike in the 47th over dashed any hopes that New Zealand might have had. The Madhya Pradesh bowler finished her spell with figures of 4-34. Along with her, Rajeshwari Gayakwad picked two wickets while Deepti Sharma and Jhulan Goswami picked one wicket each.

New Zealand were looking all set to get a score in the vicinity of 290-300 when Amy Sattetherwaite (75) and Amelia Kerr (50) were batting together. Even with Katy Martin and Satterthwaite in the middle and New Zealand at 224-4 at the end of the 42nd over, 280 looked like a certainty. But very tight bowling from India meant that they got five wickets in the last eight overs and conceded only 36 runs.

Goswami has so far given away only two runs in the over and she has equalled Lynn Fullston for most wickets in the World Cup history with 39 wickets. and with just five runs and a wicket from this over, New Zealand finish at 260-9, which is way below the par score as 280 looked like a certain score all afternoon. New Zealand, if they lose today will now be on the verge of getting out of the World Cup, their home World Cup and that would be only because their batters were not good enough on two occasions. 260 does not look like a safe total whatsoever

Boom!! You just can't keep Vastrakar out of the game. Comes in to bowl her last over and goes for the yorker to Lea Tuhuhu8 and gets her castles broken and she has done it again, now she has removed Jess Kerr and is now one wicket away from a hattrick as well as a five-wicket haul and she would now have New Zealand number 10 facing that ball. 

 

Can we have the first hat-trick of the World Cup here? Pooja comes in and bowls a brilliant yorker which has been kept out by Frankie MacKay. And a brilliant over from Pooja comes to an end as New Zealand are 241-8 at the end of the 47th. This has been a brilliant turnaround by India.
