ISL 2018-19: Jamshedpur collect all 3 points against Chennai after 3-1 win

The win takes Jamshedpur FC to third spot with 14 points from nine games while Chennaiyin FC are in the ninth spot with four points from eight games

Minute 52 -- Jamshedpur with a good move finds Passi who times his run to perfection to receive the ball on the left, and with only the goalkeeper to beat, shoots straight at Karanjit who parries it away

Half-time report: Jamshedpur FC are leading 2-0 against Chennaiyin FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur after a stunning strike by Pablo Morgado and a penalty goal by Carlos Calvo.

 

The first 10 minutes was anobody's game but a 14th-minute strike by Morgado when he chested the ball down outside the box and blazed it into the far right corner to make 1-0 changed the complexion of the game.

 

Jamshedpur piled further misery on the visitors when they were awarded a penalty in the 29th minute when Soosairaj, after some fine work down the right, eyed the far top corner only for Karanjit to parry the ball out. The ball fell kindly for Passi who was about to shoot when Jerry pulled him down, prompting the referee to point to the spot immediately. Calvo took the penalty kick and sent Karanjit the wrong way to score Jamshedpur's second of the night.

 

For the next 25 minutes, Chennai struggled to even get into the final third and although they played more positively in the dying minutes of the first half, they never really came close to scoring a goal of their own

Minute 45+3 -- Gregory Nelson does well on the right and puts in a cross at the near post which is flicked to the centre that sets off a scramble but Jeje, who is among the thick of things, cannot get the shot on goal. And that is the half-time whistle

Minute 27 (PENALTY!!) -- Jamshedpur score again! Soosairaj does fantastically on the left to cut in and aim for the far top corner where Karanjit does well to parry it out. The ball falls kindly for Passi who is about to shoot when Jerry pulls him down. The referee points to the spot immediately!

Minute 14 (GOAL!!)-- Jamshedpur FC get a free-kick on the right of Chennai box. Carlos Calvo stands over the free-kick, it's half-cleared. The ball falls for Pablo Morgado who shoots from outside the box. He chests the ball down and absolutely blazes the ball into the far right corner. Absolutely fantastic stuff!
