Key batsmen for MI

The three-time champions will once again rely on their opener Quinton de Kock, who has accumulated 378 runs from 10 games and has mostly given fine starts to his side. Also, a lot will depend on Hardik Pandya as he has blasted down the batting order many a times this season.

Key bowlers for CSK

Dhoni is likely to stick with his winning combination and would once again go with two spinners in Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir as the wicket in Chepauk has helped the spinners this season. Tahir had a fantastic season bagging 16 wickets from 11 games and has always achieved breakthroughs whenever the team needed it.

Trying to get Dhoni have rest is difficult, says CSK batting coach Hussey

Chennai Super Kings batting coach Mike Hussey said skipper MS Dhoni was keen to play all the games for the team and it was "very difficult" to get him to have rest. The question over Dhoni taking a break from his IPL duties crept up after he himself said that if his niggling back problem worsens he won't hesitate to take some time off, especially with his last World Cup around the corner. "Well you would have to ask Dhoni that question. I think what I know about him is that he doesn't want to miss any matches. He loves playing for CSK, this place is very close to his heart and he wants to play and do well and wants to see the team have success.

"So trying to get him to have rest is very difficult," Hussey told reporters here ahead of Friday's IPL match against Mumbai Indians. I don't know what he (Dhoni) wants to do in that respect, but we will have to wait and see. I think he is keen to play all the games," he said about the CSK captain.

Shane Watson thanked Fleming and Dhoni

Shane Watson after playing a 96 run knock said he has to thank both skipper and coach of CSK to keep their faith in him.

"I was due runs, that's for sure. I can't thank Stephen Fleming and MS Dhoni enough to have kept faith in me. In any other team, I may have been dropped sooner. Happy to repay that faith. I knew I was in good nick, just needed to get my head right, get my technique right, had a bit of luck by playing and missing in the beginning," Watson said at the post-match ceremony.
