Olympics 2021 live updates, men's 10m air rifle shooting qualification: Indian shooters in action

Divyansh Singh Panwar and Deepak Kumar will be in action at the men's 10m air rifle qualification from 9:30 am IST 

 

How the scoring works

 

Athletes use an air rifle to shoot at a target that is 10 metres (33 ft) distant while standing. The competition is split into two rounds. Athletes must fire 60 shots in 75 minutes in the qualification round. The highest possible score per shot is 10.9. 

 

The top eight athletes advance to the final round, which consists of up to 24 shots, starting with two series of five shots in 250 seconds each, followed by 14 single shots in 50 seconds each. Following that, after the 12th shot, the bottom two shooters are removed, and athletes are eliminated after every two shots.
