Hewlett Packard has emerged as the market leader in laser printers, consumer desktops and notebooks for the third quarter of calender 2005, according to The International Data Centre (IDC). |
In the laser printer category, HP reported a 75 per cent market share. While the industry grew 9 per cent, HP's market share increased by 12 per cent. |
Most notable was the increase in the share of monolasers in the 21-30 ppm (pages per minute) space where HP captured a market share of 90 per cent as against 66 per cent share in the previous quarter. |
According to IDC, in the consumer notebook category HP recorded a 29 per cent growth as against the market growth of 25 per cent. The Q3 notebook marketshare closed at 36 per cent recording a 1 per cent increase over the previous quarter. |
HP's share of the consumer desktop segment was maintained at 33 per cent. HP Inkjet all-in-ones grew by 1 per cent to capture 88 per cent market share while HP scanners retained its marketshare of 52 per cent. |
