The .in domain registrations, which was opened for public from February 16, have crossed the 75,000-mark, and the target of two lakh .in registrations within six months is now expected to be achieved much earlier than the target date. "The 75,000 new registrations have been achieved by the 18 registrars accredited to the .in registry," Amitabh Singhal, acting CEO of National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), said today. NIXI, which is promoted by the department of IT, in association with the Internet Service Providers Association of India (ISPAI), expects to add another 12-18 accredited registrars by the end of the month, he added. "We expect the total number of accredited registrars for .in domain names to be about 35 by the end of February," Singhal said. |
