Four information technology (IT) companies have been accorded permission to set up offices in different IT special economic zones (SEZ) in the state. The permission was given at the Unit Approval Committee meeting of the AP IT SEZs development commissioner held on Monday.
According to Information Technology and Communications Department secretary K Ratna Prabha, Object Technology Solutions, NHR Sourcing and SMOP Infotech Private Limited have been accorded permission to open their offices at Phoenix Infocity, DLF Assets and Indu Technology SEZs in Hyderabad respectively. The three companies together sought 40,000 sft of office space and proposed to provide employment to 1,798 persons.
Another IT company, Galla IT Services Private Limited has been given permission to set up a unit at L&T Hitech City Limited in Vijayawada. Galla sought 731 sft and proposed to employ 25 persons. With this, the number of IT companies that have been permitted to set up their units in the L&T SEZ goes up to four.
Ratna Prabha stated in a release that the recession did not have any impact on the creation and filling up of office space in the IT SEZs by the infrastructure developers.
As an extension to the Cyberabad area, the Shamshabad area near the international airport was developing as a promising IT hub.
