7Seas Entertainment Limited, an independent game development company, is planning to develop five games for Android-based mobile phones with an investment of Rs 2 crore, to be funded through internal resources, said managing director L Maruti Sanker.
“With Google activating 550,000 Android devices per day and having more than 130 million Android-powered phones worldwide currently, our next focus will be on handsets that run on the Android operating system. We will soon start the R&D work for the creation of five games on the Android platform and launch them by this December,” he told mediapersons here on Wednesday.
Announcing the launch of 10 new mobile games – to be distributed through 20 games aggregators and various online mobile apps stores worldwide – to its existing portfolio of 7 mobile games, Sanker said work on console games was in progress and the company would launch a couple of them in two years down the line.
The 10 new games launched on Wednesday, across action, arcade, racing, shooting and sports genres, are targeted at high-end mobile phones.
