Samsung launched its Galaxy S6 edge+ today at an event in New Delhi.
The edge+ offers dual-edged design, a massive screen and 4 GB RAM for a power efficient experience.
The S6 edge+ is a looker. The additional titanium silver along with the usual golden colour is a really fine choice. The phone is curved at the edges and is sleek and light, weighing only 154 gms.
What really catches your attention is the vivid display and the smooth touch screen functionality. Samsung has been very careful with the design and continues to keep its focus on big screen phones, which has been its strong point.
Unlike most phones these days, the edge+ does not come with too many applications cluttering the phone. It gives you the option of downloading your basic essential apps like Facebook and Twitter and also gives you the space (literally) to pick.
Samsung has taken battery life very seriously and offers fast charging as well the option for a wireless charger, which can be bought with the phone for around Rs 3,599.

The rear camera is 16 MP and the front one, 5MP. I sneaked in a selfie and realised the camera is good even in low light conditions since the presentation was going on and the venue was dimly lit.
The edge+ claims to be a step ahead of the edge when it comes to battery and display. The live streaming feature is refreshingingly new; there is as also an internal support system specially built to support 4G. Samsung has also moved on to cloud storage and therefore has not kept an expandable memory for its latest offering. The version currently available is 32 GB, not the 64 GB one which is available in the US. However, Samsung claims the 32 GB variant is in popular demand in the Indian market.
In the brief time I got to spend with the S6 edge+, I can safely say Samsung has packed the right features in this one. Priced at Rs 57,900, this high segment range smartphone will be available from 28 August 2015. The Edge+ has all the potential of a notable niche phone; however, with changing market dynamics and increasing competition, only time can tell the fate of the Galaxy edge+.
