Acer India became the first personal computer company to launch a full-featured 8.1-inch tablet, along with two other new products. The company on Tuesday launched three new Windows 8 touch-enabled devices — Acer Iconia W3, Aspire P3 and Aspire R7.
“We are the first PC player to launch a full-featured 8.1-inch tablet, along with two other new products, the Acer Aspire P3 and Aspire R7,” said Harish Kohli, managing director of Acer India.
“Touch being the future, we are excited to collaborate with Microsoft to deliver a powerful new class of Windows devices for the Indian consumer,” Kohli added.

The Acer Aspire P3 Ultrabook, which weighs 1.3 kg and is 0.77-inches thin and will be available from Rs 54,499 onwards, whereas the Windows 8 powered Aspire R7 notebook has a 15.6-inch Full HD 1920x1080 touch screen and will be available from Rs 74,999 onwards.
With the tablet and touch-notebook computers marking the advent of a new era in morden computing, the company expects 80 per cent of its total products on touch technology by 2015.
