Aditya Birla Minacs bags Rs 600-crore Idea cellular deal

Aditya Birla Minacs, a global IT business solutions company and subsidiary of Aditya Birla Nuvo, has signed a Rs 600-crore five-year outsourcing services deal with Idea Cellular. The deal is an expansion of Minacs’ existing relationship with Idea Cellular.

Minacs will provide customer interaction services from its centers in Aurangabad, Baroda and Kolkata. These services will provide support in Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Oriya, Khasi and Assamese apart from Hindi and English to 35 million Idea customers. Minacs plans to recruit 4,000 employees for these three centers by March 2010. The company entered the domestic market over a year back and has so far six clients.

We will draw from our global experience to deliver operational efficiency, speed of delivery to the different levels of local complexity in the domestic market,” said Deepak Patel, CEO, Aditya Birla Minacs.

Aditya Birla Minacs, ranked among the top 10 BPO firms by IT industry body Nasscom, has been working with Idea for over a year. Minacs Telecom Solutions offers end-to-end solutions in inbound and outbound sales, customer service and support, loyalty and retention, contract processing, database-driven marketing amongst other services. Minacs currently serves several Fortune 500 clients including a leading wireless technology provider, a large global telecom company.
