Adobe India today inaugurated the second phase of its campus facility in Noida, and will hire 150 people in India in 2005.

Naresh Chand Gupta, managing director of Adobe Systems India, said: "We hired 150 people last year. This year, too, we will hire 150 to take the headcount in India to 525."

He said the company has spent $8 million on the second research and development tower in Noida, which would double the space available to the company to 2,00,000 sq ft.

The second tower will have 40 seats, and will take the total capacity Adobe has in India to 850 seats, Gupta said.

Shantanu Narayen, the newly appointed COO of Adobe Systems Inc, said: "The India development centre of Adobe is the second biggest outside the US, and the third largest overall."

He added that the India development centre is the fastest growing worldwide, and has filed 25 patent applications so far of which three have been granted.

"The India development centre is developing new products, core technologies and components for existing products," Narayen said.
