Airtel hits 5-lakh mark in Himachal

Bharti Airtel had become the first mobile operator in Himachal Pradesh to cross the 5 lakh customer mark.

"According to the figures released today by the Cellular Operators Association of India, Airtel in Himachal Pradesh on February 28 this year had 504,042 customers," claimed Airtel Himachal chief, RVS Bhullar today. Airtel has a customer base of 36 million in the country.

Company officials said Airtel has gone up from 400,000 to 500,000 customers in only six months the fastest by any company in the state so far. It has around 585 towers across the hill state.

"Airtel is further expanding aggresively in the state, particularly in the rural areas," said Bhullar.
