Airtel's 50 paisa pm local, STD call offer at a price

Airtel's offering of both local and STD calls at a flat rate of 50 paisa per minute would not be available to all its 110 million subscribers as it comes at a fixed monthly rental for both prepaid and post paid customers under a new add on plan "Airtel Advantage Plan".        

An Airtel spokesman said here today that the default calling rate applicable to all the customers would remain unchanged at Rs 1 per minute for local calls and Rs 1.50 per minute for STD calls.        

The offering of 50 paisa per minute for both STD and local calls would come under the "Airtel Advantage Plan" which a customer would have to buy additionally by contacting Airtel Customer Care or company's retail outlets, he told PTI here today.        

 

The Postpaid and Prepaid subscribers would have to pay Rs 85 and Rs 50 per month respectively in addition to their normal plan charges to avail the offer of 50 paisa calling on Local and STD calls to Airtel subscribers in the country.        

"The Airtel customer community of over 110 million enjoys the special and exclusive benefits of being on the largest Network of over 100,000 towers and availability across 1.5 million outlets making it the most compelling service to be on," Atul Bindal, President, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel Ltd had announced yesterday.
