US-based Amtex Systems Inc will set up a six lakh sq ft facility at the Information Technology Corridor at an investment of Rs 100 crore.

Amtex provides consulting services to the healthcare and financial sectors and expects to complete the proposed project by 2007-end.

In a company press release, Sunny Pokala, founder and president, Amtex Systems Inc, said that this foray marks a timely backward integration move for Amtex which is bound to have significant pipeline creation and revenue opportunities.

On the reasons for choosing Chennai for setting up the facility, Pokala, said, "With Bangalore getting saturated and hitting higher cost levels, we expect that Chennai would become the next best alternative for technology and BPO companies."

We also feel that the quality of infrastructure development in Chennai is better than many other cities, he added.

Such a large facility needs high quality manpower which means more demand for our staffing division. Over a period of time, we expect to expand our development frontiers, he said.

The proposed facility would focus only on large global players looking at data centres, disaster recovery centres and those particularly in the BFSI, insurance and healthcare verticals, added Pokala.
