Software company, Anshinsoft is planning to increase its headcount by more than 76 per cent to 150 over the next 12-18 months. The company's current manpower of 85 is distributed between its development centre in Santa Clara in the US, a marketing office in Japan and the development centre in Kolkata.

Anshinsoft has a two-pronged growth strategy for business expansion, growing the existing thrust area and developing business in new thrust areas. For taking the financial industry solution offering to new markets like the south east Asia and Europe, the company was working on a special business development collaboration possibility.

Speaking on the occasion of inauguration of its new development centre, Arnab Debnath, president and chief executive officer (CEO) said that poaching by big companies in Kolkata was a problem.

However, state IT minister, Manabendra Mukherjee said, "Our heart belongs to companies which have originated in the state. We need small companies to grow."

The company has set a target of total revenues of Rs 20-24 crore in the next 12-18 months from the current level of Rs 12 crore.

Anshinsoft would continue to operate in its current area of strength, which is solution development for capital markets and financial services.

However, the company would also work towards diversifying into new fields of software solutions, the radio frequency identification (RFID) technology based application development and the upcoming field of digital media applications.

Dialogue was in progress with a Toshiba subsidiary for exploring RFID-based application development.

Also discussions have been initiated with a Fujitsu subsidiary for exploring opportunities in digital media software development.
