Apple Music on Android

Apple Music on Android

Abhik Sen
Apple's Music app has been available for Android devices for a little more than a week. Though still in beta, the app mimics most of the controls, albeit with some changes. For example, the sections are hidden under the menu tab on Android, and thus needs a few extra touches in navigating compared to iOS.

There are three things I found missing in the Android app. One, you cannot play music present on the phone with this app, one can only stream; obviously the iTunes Store is absent as well. Two, one can't use voice commands with the Android app; Android Now isn't supported. And three, one can't sign up for a family plan on the Android app; only the individual app, free for the first three months for first-time users, and then Rs 120 a month, can be subscribed to.

All in all, it makes sense for people like me who use Android devices, but have their entire music collection on iTunes.
