Avaya targets 800 firms in SME segment

Avaya GlobalConnect Ltd, an enterprise communication solutions provider, will target 700-800 companies a year in the small and medium enterprises (SME) segment with its converged communication solution called Avaya IP Office.
 
Announcing the launch of its all-in-one communication solution Avaya IP office, Sanjay Singh, national marketing manager "� channel, said that the company was entering the SME segment in India in a big way with its IP Office product.
 
He said that there were about 35,000 SMEs in India and the company had sold about 20 IP office systems since its launch in New Delhi in November, 2005.
 
The IP Office product is targeted at companies, both multinational and Indian, in the SME segment that have 300-350 employees (including banks, financial services, insurance, IT and software, FMCG and retail and manufacturing and also domestic compact contact centres (up to 75 seats) and multi-site enterprises having remote locations offices in hub and spoke model).
 
Designed to increase employee productivity and reduce support costs, Avaya IP Office allows voice and data on the same network, enhanced networking capability with centralised messaging up to 480 port systems and conversion of text to speech along with in-built voice mail, among others.
 
This Indian arm of US-based Avaya Inc expects to garner a revenue of over Rs 500 crore by the end of this fiscal.
 
The company is looking at capturing about 30 per cent market share of the total addressable IP office market in the SME segment in the next three years. At present, the addressable market for IP office in India is around 35 million, according to India Enterprise Telephony market study.
 
Quoting a Frost & Sullivan study, he said that the market would migrate to IP-based platform, which will have about 67 per cent share in the next three years.
 
The study estimates that the total revenue of the IP PBX market in India is likely to double from $82 million in 2005-06 to about $160 million by 2007-08, with the SME segment contributing an estimated 40 per cent of this total revenue.
 
Over 60,000 Avaya IP Office Systems have been installed globally over the last three years. The company has designed the product and its applications for the SME segment in India.
