GSM service provider Bharti Airtel has hiked its stake in Bharti Hexacom, the operator of GSM services in Rajasthan, to 70 per cent by acquiring 1.11 per cent from a Kuwaiti firm. However, the financial details of the acquisitions were not disclosed.
The company acquired 1.11 per cent stake, or 2,780,306 equity shares, in Bharti Hexacom from Mobile Telecommunications, Bharti Airtel informed the stock exchanges today.
Prior to the acquisition, Airtel’s shareholding stood at 68.89 per cent. Mobile Telecommunications had earlier signed roaming agreements with Bharti Hexacom.
