Bharti plans $1bn capex this fiscal

Bharti Tele-Ventures is planning to invest around $1 billion this fiscal.

"The expenditure would include rolling out rural telephony to more number of small towns. Introducing fixed line and broadband connections in several big cities are also in the pipeline," Rajan Mittal, joint managing director of Bharti Tele-Ventures, said today.

Bharti has already reached 2,800 small towns as part of its rural telephony programme, he added.
