Birlasoft launches IT centre in Noida

Information Technology services major, Birlasoft (India) Ltd, a part of the $1.4 billion CK Birla Group, has launched its new development centre in Noida. The 1,231 seat facility is spread over 1,28,000 square feet.
 
The new state-of-the-art facility reinforces Birlasoft's position in Noida where it is already running three centres covering over 200,000 square feet and employing more than 2,000 IT professionals. Another centre, spreading over 100, 000 square feet and with seating capacity of 810 seats, is under construction near the latest facility and will be functional by the middle of 2008.
 
Speaking on the occassion, Birlasoft Chief Executive Officer Kamal Mansharamani said, "Birlasoft is in the expansion mode. The last three years have witnessed our global headcount more than doubling to 4,400. The ramp-up shall continue as we are generating new business oppurtunities, winning new clients and entering new services and technology domain."
 
Birlasoft, which figures among the top 20 IT services exporters in India, envisages crossing the 6,000 headcount by the end of 2008.
 
In India, apart from its hub in Noida in the NCR region, the company has development centres in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, where it plans to augment further capacities in the coming months.
