Name one gadget you regret having spent so much money on.
Some time back I purchased a Mini DVD Handy Cam. The product has some very good features. When I bought the product I was expecting to use it more frequently. However, till date I have used it just four to five times. That’s why I am regretting spending money on a product which has less usability for me.
What’s the first thing you look for in a gadget?
Before buying any gadget I always look at four important aspects — features, functionality, usability and size. As a user, I always prefer a feature-rich, compact product.
Who’s your one-stop gizmo guru?
Honestly, I don’t have one. On a regular basis, I check out gadgets on the Net and in lifestyle or gadget magazines. I compare different options available and opt for the best possible product.
Is there a gadget you have been waiting to buy?
There are lots of those, in fact. Very recently Canon has launched a product — the Canon DSLR, its Rebel series product. This is a fantastic gadget and I will be buying the product pretty soon.
Name a gizmo that distracts you from work.
My iPhone distracts me a lot when I am at work. It comes with a lot of features and I use almost all of them. One feels like looking at it at regular intervals. So, every time you play around with it, you find a new feature.

Which gizmo do you think is overrated?
In fact, all gadgets are overrated. Ultimately, it is the brand that sells. Taking this into consideration, I think iPhone is overrated; it sells because it’s an Apple product and has no competition in the market.
Is there a gadget you haven’t yet been able to figure out?
I am a techy by profession and also a tech-savvy person. So, I am comfortable with any type of product.
Is there one gadget you can’t do without, apart from your cellphone?
That’s my iPhone, because it has every feature that one needs.
How much of the gadget literature do you actually read?
I have not felt the need to go through any product literature of any products. Whenever I buy a new product I try and figure out all the features myself.
