Bridle Information and Technology Solutions, the first incubated company of BITS, Pilani, has developed a product called SchoolMATE " School Mobile Assisted Teacher.

The solution aims at communicating necessary information of students to the parents in the form of an email, direct web access or even an SMS.

By computerising day-to-day activities of the school, important information like progress report, attendance summary, exam schedule, etc can be communicated to the parents through this solution.

Parents can also access any information about their wards at any time from their mobile phones.

Bridle has already tied up with eight educational institutions like St Mary's College, RVR&JV College of Engineering and Kakatiya Educational Institutions in Andhra Pradesh besides a school in Chennai. It is targeting to get three lakh subscribers registered with it by the end of the current fiscal.

The schools charge around Rs 100 from every parent for this service and share the revenues on an almost equal basis with the company. The Rs 100 charge is, however, not fixed and may be differently charged by various schools. The company is aiming at earning revenues of Rs 3 crore by this year end.

The company, which is primarily funded by Srinivas Atluri, founder and chief executive officer of Core Providers LLC, has invested around Rs 1.2 crore in R&D with another Rs 1 crore planned for future product development.

An amount of Rs 1.5 crore has also been planned for marketing the product.

"In the next few months, we are planning to market this product in eight countries. We have got strategic partnerships in Philippines and are ready to market the product in the US, UK and the Middle East," G Rama Krishna, chief executive officer of Bridle Information, said.

The company is also planning to develop more products in various sectors like healthcare, automobiles and entertainment.
