BSNL to spend Rs 1,000 crore on customer care

BSNL will be spending Rs 1,000 crore on customer care out of the total Rs 20,000 crore capex this year.
 
Besides, it also plans to bring down the tariff for broadband and is likely to make an announcement in this regard in a few days.
 
Speaking to the media, A K Sinha, chairman and managing director of BSNL, said, "We have 1.8 million internet users all of which are on dial-up connection. We plan to convert all these customers to broadband users."
 
This fiscal, BSNL plans to add one million broadband customers to its network, followed by two million and three million in the consecutive years.
 
It also intends to add two crore mobile subscribers this financial year from the existing 1.07 crore users.
