California-based Zmanda Inc opens Pune centre

Zmanda Inc, an open source backup and recovery software solutions company headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, today announced the opening of its development centre in Pune.
 
"Pune, with its focus on open source, outstanding technology infrastructure, thriving storage software ecosystem and talented workforce, is an ideal place for Zmanda to set up its product development organisation," said Chander Kant, CEO of Zmanda.
 
Currently, the Zmanda development center in Pune has 12 employees, and it is expected to grow to about 60 employees within the next two years. "Most of our investment in engineering resources will be done in Pune, and we expect the Pune centre to become Zmanda's development backbone with 60 people in the next two years up from the current 12 employees."
 
Zmanda also announced today the availability of a new release of its Zmanda Recovery Manager (ZRM) for MySQL product.
 
"This project was designed and developed entirely by Zmanda's development team in Pune," said Kant.
