CalTel eyes more enterprise biz

Calcutta Telephones is targeting Rs 120 crore from its enterprise business, as part of its plan to gain market share in the highly competitive telecom space.

Currently, the company has a turnover of Rs 850 crore of which Rs 75 crore is from enterprise business.

A K Garg, CGM, Calcutta Telephones, said, “We are looking at nearly doubling our revenues from enterprise business. We are also introducing new solutions, managed network service for end-to-end solutions for enterprise customers. Banks are predominantly our enterprise customers but we are also looking at increasing the number of private companies on our enterprise business.”

 

Calcutta Telephones is also offering broadband connections to colleges and universities in its Calcutta circle which is also part of its strategy to augment revenues from the enterprise segment. Already, the company has supplied 484 broadband connections to colleges and is in the process of supplying to 14 universities in its Calcutta circle.

Currently, Calcutta Telephones’ average revenue per user (ARPU) from broadband is over Rs 600.
