The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), southern region, is organising 'iTalent' for the second year running. It is an event organised to identify and showcase the talent of IT students in developing IT related projects for industry applications. |
Ravi Shah, chairman, iTalent 2005 and vice-president, Tata Consultancy Services, said that the key objective of ITalent was to provide students an exposure to a competitive landscape, as well as an opportunity for the industry to interact with the students. |
This year, CII has invited nominations from the final year electronics and communication engineering (ECE), electronics and electricals engineering (EEE), IT and computer science, students of engineering (UG/PG), MSc computer science, IT and electronics and MCA streams of regional colleges for a wide range of projects. |
Each institute can send a maximum of four teams from the above disciplines (comprising three students per team). The teams would at first have to send concept notes on varied project areas of technical and social relevance. |
After initial screening of concept notes by an expert committee , CII would invite detailed project proposals. The project proposals will be evaluated and the finalists will present their projects at the iTalent competition scheduled from January 6-7, 2006 in Chennai. |
