CII, TiE to mentor Gujarat entrepreneurs

The Ahmedabad chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), along with Confederation of Indian Industries has announced a 'Mentoring Camp Workshop for Development of Entrepreneurship in Gujarat'.

To be conducted with an aim of providing a platform for interaction between budding entrepreneurs and mentors of various business sectors, the camp will be held in Vadodara on October 3, 2009, followed by Rajkot and Surat in the state.

In collaboration with District Industries Centre (Vadodara), CII and TiE will help the potential entrepreneurs from different domains such as retail, and IT to face new challenges of the business. "The objective of this initiative is to add the entrepreneurs in holistic aspect," Atul Garg, chairman of Central Gujarat Council.

 

After Vadodara, the camps in Rajkot and Surat will be held in January and Februrary, respectively. "Such camps will be a window for the potential entrepreneurs to interact with the established players in various segments of business world and help them to start or grow their businesses and tackle the challenges in this competitive world," said Garg.

Through the initiative, CII and TiE intend to provide entrepreneurs in Gujarat an opportunity to form a mentor and mentee relationship with successful entrepreneurs and venture capitalists such as Pawan Sharma, president, KPIT Cummins; Pradeep Udhas, Greater Pacific Captial; R. Sriram, Next Practice Retail; Anand Lunia and Praveen Gandhi, Seed Sund; Jay Gupta, The Loot; and Parth Gandhi, ICICI Ventures, among others.

Garg added that the entire initiative is supported by Industry Commissionerate, Government of Gujarat.
