Curtains fell on the Communication and Information Technology 2005 (CIT 2005), the annual convention cum exhibition on communication and IT, organised jointly by the Gujarat government and Confederation of Indian Industry, on Sunday.

Tata announcing the launch of its 'Push to Talk' model, a mobile cum walky-talky instrument and Microsoft launching its Gujarati version of Windows operating system were the highlights of CIT 2005.

The presence of the leading players in the IT industry such as Cisco, Siemens, Tata Teleservices, Motorola, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), BSNL among others, gave the event an international flavour.

While Motorola's liquid media server based on radio frequency identification gave an idea of seamless mobility of data transfer, the German communication giant Seimens showcased its digitally enhanced codeless telephony technology that facilitates setting up of an independent mobile network. These were some of the highlights of the exhibition that was part of the event.

CIT provided a platform to more than 75 IT companies from across India and a few from abroad to exhibit their products. The CIT conference too received response with more than 1,000 delegates attending the event. The highlight of the conference was the live-video conferencing to technical institutes across Gujarat during the sessions.
