City centre of C-DAC to be operational from Feb 2011

The training for the inaugural batch of the authorized training centre of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) in the city will commence from February 2011 with an intake of 120 students.

"The training centre of C-DAC in the city would commence operations from February 2011 with an intake of 120 students. The entrance test for admission to this centre would be conducted in November this year”, said Rajan T Joseph, director general of C-DAC.C-DAC on Tuesday, launched its authorized training centre in the city in collaboration with Lakshya, a city-based IT training institute. S S Mantha, chairman of the All India Centre for Technical Education (AICTE); Hemant Darbari, executive director of C-DAC, Pune and Binod Das, secretary of the Orissa Private Engineering Colleges Association (OPECA) were present on the occasion.

 

"It is a privilege for C-DAC to launch its first authorized training centre in the state.

Through this initiative, we are looking to extend our core research and development (R&D) expertise to groom students in line with the rigorous demands of the IT industry”, said Joseph.

The ONAMA Version-II, an open source based High Performance Computing Cluster Solution developed by C-DAC, was also released on the occasion.
