Cognizant opens centre in Coimbatore

Cognizant Technology Solutions has started a development centre in Coimbatore with 50 professionals, the seventh city where the company has opened a centre. The other cities where Cognizant has a presence are Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata and Hyderabad.
 
According to R Rajagopalan, vice-president (administration and finance), Cognizant, the company has taken up approximately 40,000 square feet of space in the STPI zone at Kumaraguru College of Technology.
 
In the first year of operations, the company plans to have 400 professionals working there.
 
Cognizant's Coimbatore centre will focus on three of its core service offerings "� application maintenance, testing services and IT infrastructure management.
