Cognizant ties up with MIT

Leading IT solutions and consulting firm Cognizant has as entered into a three-year agreement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Digital Business to fund research on the impacts of new technologies in communications, information, media and entertainment (CIME) industries.

The research programme will focus on trends in technology, work and leadership development in the CIME sector in the fields of emergence of the social workplace. Andrew McAfee, principal research scientist and author of Enterprise 2.0, is the principal investigator of the research team, along with Erik Brynjolfsson, director of the MIT Centre for Digital Business (CDB), and George Westerman, research scientist. All three are experts in the strategic potential of information technology and the organisational aspects of technology innovation.“Companies in the CIME sector have been transformed by digitisation and the advent of powerful new communication tools, bringing deep changes to processes, products, revenue models, pricing, internal organisation, and customer relationships,”said Francisco D’Souza, president and chief executive officer of Cognizant.
