Even as it launches its latest offshore development centre (ODC) in Vadodara, US-based IT solutions and services multinational is looking to expand by setting up another ODC in the country. The company that offers IT solutions and BPO services is evaluating land in three cities including Ahmedabad in India for the new ODC.
While Collabera already has two ODCs in Bangalore and Trivandrum, the company recently launched its third development centre - 'Collabera House' - in Vadodara. Spread across an area of 60,000 sq ft, the centre will employ over 850 professionals.
"India has been growing consistently as an off-shore destination particularly in the contingent workforce management space given the changes in the workplace of the future. India too will follow the same pattern of employment as the US creating a huge domestic market in the near future for such services. The newly set up facility - Collabera House - in Vadodara is an evidence to this," said Hiten Patel, co-founder and chairman, Collabera Inc.
The Vadodara facility will enhance Collabera Inc.'s flexibility to meet the diverse needs of its global marketplace and showcase some of the excellent projects and services that the company has undertaken globally. Having planned expansion in ODCs, the company is looking to close the financial year with a turnover of $500 million (Rs 2,400 crore approx.).
Commenting on the significance of 'Collabera House', Mehul Shah, CEO Vadodara Operations said "Gujarat is a leading business hub of our country and Collabera is glad to contribute to its development.
He further said “the Vadodara centre has acquired tremendous importance for the company as it will become the nucleus for its expansion of services into other geographies like the ASEAN countries and subsequently even the African continent, apart from the existing market of US being currently serviced."
Since its inception in February 2005, Collabera Vadodara, has expanded its portfolio of International professional services to a host of other services for the domestic market too. Starting with 14 people on board at the time of its inception, Collabera Vadodara on Sunday employs more than 850 professionals, a large section of these are IT and management professionals from colleges in and around Vadodara.
