Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) India aims to sell around 10,000 website seals of its online trust solution next fiscal, which aims to boost global trade for Indian exporters by giving them credibility.

The business data provider launched 'D&B Registered', an electronic mark displayed on a company's website as a logo, which tells potential customers, suppliers and business partners of its authenticity online.

"We hope to sell 8,000-10,000 seals of our online trust solution in the next fiscal, which should net us about Rs 6 crore. By this month-end, we will have sold about 300 seals," D&B Information Services India Chief Operating Officer Kaushal Sampat told PTI here today.

A customer has to register for the online trust solution (OTS) and provide D&B with information and documents required, following which a verification will be conducted. Once qualified, D&B will activate and control the seal.

"Ninety-seven per cent of our customers are small and medium enterprises like exporters and importers. It will help enhance trust in businesses and reduce the rate of cancellation of orders," Sampat said.

Merchants reject international orders at a rate three-and-half times higher than domestic orders, D&B said, quoting a survey by CyberSource.
