Data Infosys to make Jaipur wi-fi-enabled

Rajasthan-based Data Infosys Ltd, one of India's pioneer & leading IT companies, is set to transform Jaipur into a wi-fi city.
 
The company, in terms of a memorandum of understanding signed with the Rajasthan government, is planning to have hotspots in several parts of Jaipur under the wi-fi City project.
 
"The first wi-fi spot has been launched at the Sindhi Camp Bus Stand and very soon almost all tourist spots of Jaipur will be wi-fi enabled," said Ajay Kumar Data, CEO, Data Infosys.
 
"We hope to turn Jaipur into a wi-fi city in a year," he added.
 
Established in 1999, an ISO-9001 company, Data Infosys is part of the Data group with an annual turnover of over Rs 1,200 crore. Being among India's top seven Internet service providers (ISP) with a stronghold over the North Indian region, DIL is serving a database of 250,000 internet subscribers.
 
"Besides being an ISP, in DIL we shelter the 24x7 customer care call centre for various government bodies and large corporate organisations like BSNL, Rajasthan Tourism, and Jaipur Electricity Distribution Company," Data said.
 
The CEO said that the company was executing the spot billing project for Jaipur Electricity Distribution Company. The project includes the design, development and implementation of application software for computerised spot bill generation.
 
"In some areas, the system has started and in others we hope to introduce it soon," added.
 
Data said that he was hopeful of launching an online billing system for power consumers by June this year.
 
Talking about the range of operations of the company in the IT sector, Data said they included Internet services, application services, project design and development, wireless solutions, software development and web solutions, to name a few.
