Microsoft and the National Institute of Smart Governance (NISG) will set up an innovation centre in Delhi next month for conducting research in e-governance. The innovation centre, to be set up from the $2-million innovation fund set up by Microsoft Corporation two months ago, will conduct research for two years. |
"The innovation centre with Microsoft will be set up in Delhi in 30 days to conduct research to provide better and more effective ways of e-governance," said J Satyanarayana, chief executive officer, National Institute of Smart Governance. |
The collaborative research conducted by the two parties will be used globally by the two parties. "The research outcome, which is likely to take two years, will also be used globally by the two parties as the best practices can be shared and used across the world," said Satyanarayana. |
The innovation centre will initially have 12 people, six of whom will be from Microsoft and the remaining from NISG. The research will provide a platform for e-governance solutions at both the central and state level. |
It will be used to create a service-oriented architecture designed specifically for the public sector under which several services will be offered simultaneously. |
