Elven acquires Indian arm of AMCC

Elven Technologies, an associate company of enterprise-wide business management (EBM) solutions provider Aftek Infosys, has acquired Bangalore-based AMCC Technology Solutions India, for an undisclosed sum.
 
AMCC Technology Solutions India is the subsidiary of the Nasdaq-listed Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (AMCC).
 
AMCC's vision of being the premier provider of solutions for processing, transporting and storing information for digital multimedia convergent networks of future matches with Aftek's focus in the area of Digital Home Automation, Communication and Entertainment solutions, Aftek said in a release .
 
"Our association with the network processor and Switching Fabric IC supplier gives us very exciting business opportunities. Getting into VLSI naturally extends our embedded competencies. And with matching visions, we expect more synergies in other fields too," Aftek Infosys chairman and chief executive officer Ranjit Dhuru said.
 
AMCC is a leader in network and embedded PowerPC processing, optical transport and storage solutions. Under a reorganisation plan, Aftek Infosys was planning to integrate all its units with itself and sell off units that is not in line with its main business.
 
The company was mulling of merging Elven and V-Soft with itself, exit from its European search engine Seekport and list its home automation unit.
 
On the consolidation roadmap, it would dispose its stake in European search engine firm, Seekport. At present, the company holds 33 per cent stake in it, which is proposed to be increased further.
