The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth, a PC game for around $20 from www.eagames.com, beautifully recreates locales and characters from Tolkein's epic. It has the stunning audio visual qualities of the Peter Jackson movies.

Players can pit characters in unconventional matchups such as Saruman Vs Sauron or the Balrog versus the Army of the Dead. It certainly doesn't stick to the plot! The game offers "resources," a sort of currency used for tasks as diverse as building fortresses, raising armies and performing magic.

There are two play modes. In story mode, players take the side of "good" or "evil" and perform various missions. In "skirmish" mode, players fight one massive battle. Skirmish mode can be played online against others.

Downloads for adults

The Vibi software from www. blissbox.com is advertised with the slogan "Love Sex think blissbox." Blissbox offers Vibi as a pin-activated program download for $20 equivalent.

Once Vibi is loaded, it operates on most common Nokia handset (the 3x00 range, 6x00 range, 7x00 range, etc ), turning them into optional vibrators which can "sing along" in wave, tease or pulse mode. If you want discreet adult entertainment or a simple massage, you can use Vibi loaded onto a common-or-garden mobile.

Repairing CDs

How many times have you ended up cursing when physical damage to a CD or DVD has prevented access? The GameDR Motorised Disc Repair System from www.digitalinnovations.com helps in most instances of minor damage.

It comes for around $50 equivalent and the kit's killer app is a resurfacing fluid that repairs the CD/DVD surface without affecting recorded data. Use the patented wheel to spray the disk and wait for a minute for the spray to set. Each kit can repair up to 50 damaged digital disks.
