Facebook unveils major updates at F8

BS Reporter

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and founder of social networking site, Facebook introduced a fresh round of features on Thursday in San Francisco at its F8 conference to about 2,000 entrepreneurs, developers and journalists. The event was broadcasted live to more than 100,000 online viewers.

After a humorous skit, where Saturday Night Live actor Andy Samberg impersonated Zuckerberg, the real Zuckerberg who looked completely at ease than he has ever in past events, introduced the Timeline feature as "the story of your life — all your stories, all your apps and a new way to express who you are."

The world largest social network has used F8 to debut significant features, such as the Like button, its idea of a "social graph", and Facebook Connect, which allows other sites to plug directly into members' accounts. This year, Facebook turned all three of those big innovations on their heads.
