After having spent 33 years with the Tata group in different capacities, Firdose Vandrevala has quit the group, and joined telecom multinational Motorola as head of Indian operations.

"Mototrola places high importance on the India market as part of its global strategy. Vandrevala's abilities, coupled with Motorola's technological leadership, are expected to help the company realise its growth objectives for India, which include next-generation technologies," senior officials said today.

Asked about the reasons for leaving the Tatas after serving with the group for over three decades, Vandrevala said: "Working in the telecom space and being part of India's telecom revolution is perhaps the most exciting brief available today."
