BPO service provider Firstsource Solutions has acquired US-based MedAssist Holding, a leading provider of revenue cycle management for the healthcare industry, for $330 million. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals in the US.

The acquisition will enable Firstsource to foray into the provider side (hospital end) of healthcare BPO services. The company already has a strong presence in the US healthcare BPO space on the payer side (insurance company end), Firstsource Solutions said in a release today.

The acquisition is expected to add around $55 million to the topline for Firstsource in the current fiscal.

"The healthcare space in the US is a tremendously attractive market from a BPO perspective. MedAssist has an attractive portfolio of service offerings, an excellent customer base and a strong management team. We see significant opportunity to grow our business in the segment by cross-selling Firstsource's services to MedAssist's customers," Firstsource managing director & CEO Ananda Mukerji said.
