Fujitsu to put Rs 135 cr in consulting business

Fujitsu will be investing $30 million (around Rs 135 crore) over three years in its consulting business in the country. The company took this decision after acquiring Rapidigm, a SAP, business intelligence and Oracle service provider firm.
 
A source said the company will be announcing its new plans in March next year.
 
"In the next three months or so, we would be branded under the Fujitsu umbrella as Fujitsu Consulting. We plan to scale up our offshore operations by three times at our Pune and Noida locations. The expansion plans include significant investment in offshore with an increase in headcount, new facilities and development of the existing offerings," said Vaibhav Nadgauda, director, Rapidigm "� a Fujitsu Consulting company.
 
Fujitsu Consulting, the renamed company has an employee strength of 1,400 at Noida, Pune and Hyderabad. "We are in the process of building a 1,000 person facility in Noida and scaling up our existing facility in Pune for additional 2,000 people," Nadgauda added.
 
The consulting company will provide much better value proposition through the combined expertise of Fujitsu and Rapidigm to offer comprehensive solutions package to clients. Nadgauda said, "We have tier I partnership with all major enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendors which will add value to our service offerings."
 
As a new entity, the company will have a more comprehensive service line right from value management to application development and managed services.
 
We will have access to business in a bigger geography specifically in Canada, the US, North America, Australia and Japan and offer them comprehensive solutions package, he said.
