GlobalLogic acquires US company for $40 million

Global software product development firm GlobalLogic has announced acquisition of US-based Validio Software along with its 350-member development centre in Ukraine. While the acquisition amount was not disclosed, it is reported to be above $40 million (around Rs 158 crore).
 
This acquisition will enable GlobalLogic to expand its business into support products based on the .NET framework.
 
GlobalLogic Chief Operating Officer Mukul Jain said the acquisition was part of company's initiative to develop a strong expertise.
 
"The acquisition helps GlobalLogic become Ukrain's largest technology employer. The acquisition will also enable us expand our client base, especially in the European market," Jain said.
 
GlobalLogic, a $100 million company involved in full product lifecycle development in domains such as mobile, telecom and finance, may buy two more companies invovlved in outsourced product development business in India. Jain said, "We want to build a brand and expertise in product development."
 
Hence, we are looking at firms in OPD business. In India, Pune remains our focused area."
 
GlobalLogic also announced a partnership with Rally Software Development Corporation involved in agile software lifecycle management solutions.
