GNFC arm launches digital certification services

nCode Solutions, promoted by the Vadodara-based fertiliser major Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizer Ltd (GNFC), has launched the nation-wide services at the National Association of Software Services Companies (NASSCOM) India leadership forum.
 
The company has been licensed recently by the Union ministry of IT as certifying authority for providing digital signature certificates to individuals and organisations.
 
Launching the services, Kiran Karnik, president of NASSCOM on Wednesday, said, "The presence of large, credible public sector organisation in this domain will further boost the efforts for implementation of e-governance and e-commerce in the country and ensure the safety and security of net-based transactions. Businesses and governments will be able to usher in higher levels of excellence at lower costs."
 
GNFC has carved an enviable reputation for itself in managing large and complex projects successfully.
 
Digital certificates can be explained as digital passports, which help in authentication of the bearer on the net.
 
They also help maintain privacy and integrity of the net based transactions. Digital signatures are accorded the same value as paper based signatures of the physical world by the Indian IT Act 2000.
 
nCode has released a suite of application like n Procure, nSign, nForm and nPay that make use of digital signatures to ensure safety and security in the virtual world. These applications address a wide spectrum of needs of the internet dependent business world ranging from online procurement to signing and sending web forms and enabling safe online payments to securing web servers or VPN services.
 
nCode has put in motion, the nationwide machinery to support different market segments like banking and financial institutions, public and private sector enterprises and state and central government porganisations.
 
A K Luke, managing director of GNFC and GSFC said, "GNFC is committed to diversifications in the emerging fields of information technology such as e-security.
