Bharti Airtel Broadband and Telephone Services has joined hands with search engine company Google with an aim at providing customised services to its seven lakh broadband customers.

According to the arrangement, Google will provide customised services such as email, chat and search free of cost to Airtel broadband subscribers. "The company will provide customised home page to customers to give them a new internet experience," Airtel Broadband and Telephone Services President Atul Bindal said.

The portal would make it easy for subscribers to check emails, search for information on the web, share ideas, connect with friends and publish content, Bindal said. "E-commerce applications will also be added to the suite soon," he added.

Subscribers will be able to access Google search engine within their airtelbroadband.in email ids in addition to getting the 2 GB storage space as provided by Google in its email service Gmail.

The Airtel and Google alliance also planned to extend its services and suites to mobile phones, Google India Managing Director Shailesh Rao.
