GTL gets Nortel order for GSM network

GTL today announced that it has been awarded an order by Nortel India to build 3,800 GSM sites in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand circles for BSNL's ongoing expansion of cellular telephony network.

According to a release issued by GTL to the BSE today, Nortel is BSNL's equipment provider for BSNL's 7 million-line GSM cellular network expansion in southern and eastern circles.

"The company will provide comprehensive project management including site engineering, installation, testing and commissioning, and network integration. The project is scheduled for completion by mid-2005," the release added.
