Hardware and systems integrator HCL Infosystems today appointed Harsh Chitale as the chief executive officer. He will take over from Ajai Chowdhry, who will remain the chairman.
Earlier, Chitale served as the leader for the North and South America region of Honeywell Process Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Honeywell International.
HCL Infosystems board’s nominations committee chose him for the post.
One of the six founder-members of HCL, Chowdhry took over the reins of HCL Infosystems in 1994 and was appointed chairman in 1999.
“Over the last 16 years, HCL Infosystems as the flagship company of the enterprise, has seen tremendous transformation and growth. Harsh (Chitale) will focus on enhancing our presence, strengthening our system integration and services offering and capacity building,” said Chowdhry.
The company’s revenue for the year ended June 30, was Rs 12,158.6 crore while the headcount is about 7,000. HCL Infosystems, over the past few years, has also been expanding its operations across emerging markets.
